JAMM is going to participate in the East Lansing Summer Solstice Jazz Festival’s First-ever Second Line Parade!

JAMM will march as a group in the East Lansing Summer Solstice Jazz Festival
Second Line Parade on June 21st!

Featuring Chicago’s Lowdown Brass Band, the parade steps off at 2:30om on Saturday, June 21.
It starts at the Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum and ends at Ann Street Plaza/MSU Education Stage just in time for the 3:30 performance of The JAMM Scholarship Quartet and the drawing for the 2014 Sndy Izenson Scholarship!

The second line is a New Orleans tradition where groups follow the grand marshal and brass band–dancing, twirling parasols, waving handkerchiefs and handing out beads. It’s all about having a great time.

Come early for the Kozmic Picnik featuring Planet D Nonet’s Sun Ra Tribute! (1 pm in the Broad Sculpture Garden.)

For more details on marching with JAMM in the parade, email JAMM President Lois Mummaw, jammprez@gmail.com or just show up at 2:15 at The Broad and look for the JAMM Banner!
